Not much in the way of mileage, but a great start to the trip. We got off to a very late start, after putting the barkbusters back on (they had to stay off until we could get them through the doorway) and packing everything on the bike we realized we hadn't checked the chain tension and the tire pressure after the visit to the bike shop. Of course we needed more air and the chains were way too tight. Doh! All...

After a minor misunderstanding with the freight company about when and where, we were finally able to retrieve our babies yesterday afternoon from one of their warehouses in Elizabeth New York.  It was a lot of fun unpacking the Groms from their shipping crate. Thankfully no damage at all, and everything was all still in there. We unpacked them on the floor of the warehouse, reassembled a few bits and packed the saddle bags. By the time we started thinking seriously about doing the TAT, we had already had our groms for about a year and done close on 7000km on them. Things that we had added/modified at that stage included: · Front and rear suspension – Racing Bros adjustable suspension. We still don’t know how to adjust them perfectly, but it has made a world of difference. · Tyres – swapped out the stock slicks and put on a slightly more aggressive tyre Mitas MC20....

December 2017 - An epic 2000 km 6 day, 5 night camping trip on the adventure Groms. We planned a fun and interesting route which covered quite a variety of ground including: Danseys Pass, Old Dunstan Road, Taupeka Ferry, Milford Sound, a ride on the TSS Earnslow, Skippers Canyon, Macetown Track, Carricktown Track and Hawksburn Road....
